Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II made his debut for the Vols in Week 1 against Chattanooga.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound redshirt sophomore transfer from Tulane recorded five receptions for 59 yards in the Vols’ 69-3 win.
Tennessee wide receiver assistant coach Kelsey Pope met with media following practice on Tuesday. He discussed the transfer wide receiver’s character.
“He’s a gamer,” Pope said of Brazzell II. “He is one of the most competitive guys on the team. Right before kickoff, he’s screaming on the sideline. I was worried that something was wrong. That’s his demeanor. He’s in it, he’s engulfed. He immerses himself in this game.
“I think Chris is one of those guys who is all or nothing. He’s going to do something 100 percent of the time at full speed. That’s why you see him out there so much. He loves the game, which gives him a shot to be really successful and good at this game.”
Tennessee will next play North Carolina State on Saturday in Charlotte, North Carolina (7:30 p.m. EDT, ABC).
