ATLANTA, Ga. (WALB) – TSA predicted 17 million passengers would pass through airports between last Thursday and Wednesday – capping off a blockbuster summer of air travel that saw some of the busiest days since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Georgia State Patrol (GSP) has confirmed that 17 people have died so far during the labor travel period.
The full numbers are not yet in, however, WALB can confirm through GSP that two of those fatalities happened in Thomasville and Valdosta.
The Labor Day travel period ends at midnight.
