Bucks’ Giannis Interested in Rare LeBron, Curry, Durant Autograph Trading Card

MILWAUKEE — This summer at the Paris Olympics, a Team USA featuring LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant for the first time together was must-see TV.

Sports card company Topps recently announced the release of the Now 1/1 triple-autographed Team USA card featuring LeBron, Steph, and KD to commemorate their gold-medal summer.

The trio led Team USA to a 6-0 record at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics and America’s fifth straight gold medal in men’s basketball.

The rare trading card — there is only one — caught the eye of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who initially offered $150,000 to anyone who’ll pull the rare collectible. A card collector on Instagram, however, upped the ante and offered $250,000 (video below).

It didn’t take long for Giannis to double down. According to BreakComp’s Instagram post on Saturday, the the 2021 NBA champion and two-time MVP commented on BreakComp’s Instagram post: “Whatever he says, I’ll double it.”

He can afford it. Giannis signed a three-year, $186-million contract extension with the Bucks last October. Outside of his NBA contract, he also holds endorsement deals with major brands such as Nike, Google, and Tissot.

Then on Sunday, Giannis appeared to retreat on his position. According to BreakComp, Antetokounmpo had deleted his comment to double the highest offer, suggesting that he may not want the card as badly as initially believed.

No matter what Giannis does, the LeBron-Steph-KD triple auto is likely to go down as one of the most expensive cards in history.

A rare rookie card of Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic sold for $3.13 million in 2022 — the most ever paid for a basketball card at public auction.
