(WHTM) — Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral votes are up for grabs. Both sites want them and both sides think they need them.
That’s why Pennsylvania is getting all the attention.
That, and it’s unclear where this state is leaning.

After brand new polling numbers, it’s still unclear where this state is leaning.
As the balloons and the curtain fell on the Democratic National Convention, Emerson College pollsters started crunching numbers in battleground states.
In Pennsylvania? Harris a .1 percentage point lead over Trump. Three percent undecided. A dead heat which the pollster says shows progress for Harris.
“We’ve had a chance to do a few polls since she’s announced is a slow, steady gain for Harris,” said Spencer Kimball, an Emerson College pollster. “So she was down three, down one. Now it’s tied. So it looks like she’s got some momentum.”
A mixed bag in the other battlegrounds. Harris is up in Georgia, Michigan, and Nevada. Trump leads in Arizona, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.
But, in every one, it’s within the poll’s margin of error.
In Pennsylvania, a whopping 51% said the economy is their most important issue. That’s a strength for the former president and a perceived weakness for the current vice president.
“When we ask about the economy, it’s about 2 to 1,” Kimball said. “They think Trump will be better for them then than Harris.”
Joe Biden is not in the race, but he’s still on the stage. About 51% of Pennsylvanians believe his presidency was below average or poor. He’ll be in Pittsburgh with Harris and promised to crisscross the Commonwealth ahead of the election.

“It’s going to be interesting to see how Harris distances herself from Biden,” Kimball said. “And the flip side is, how does Trump try to connect Harris to Biden? So we’ll be watching those two as they try to figure out how to handle Biden in the campaign.”
In the U.S. Senate race, Democrat Bob Casey wants the numbers to stay right where they are. He has led Republican challenger Dave McCormick all summer and is still up, according to this poll, by more than four. Political insiders insist it will tighten to a point or two. Thus far, it has not.
In the poll, Harris leads among independents, under-30 voters, and women. Trump leads among men.
