St. Joseph (2-0) at Duval Charter (0-2), 4:30 p.m.: Rare afternoon football is on deck for the Flashes, who are seeking their first 3-0 start since 2018. Quarterback Cody Ott and receiver Jeremiah Kes have formed one of Northeast Florida’s top statistical air combinations early. Former Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Aaron Beasley coaches Duval Charter, which has allowed 78 points in two games. Last meeting: St. Joseph 48-0 (2023).
Beachside (1-0) at Englewood (0-1), 6:30 p.m.: The Barracudas bring a 10-game winning streak into Englewood, and quarterback Edward Jordan is on fire at the moment with both Maddox Hunstad and Drew Watson topping the 100-yard receiving mark last time out against Orlando Christian Prep. Englewood receiver Antwan Campbell caught seven passes for 125 yards in the Rams’ opener.
Nease (1-0) at Creekside (0-1), 7 p.m.: This St. Johns County contest is historically the highest-scoring series in Northeast Florida. Creekside won last year with 330 yards from Harrison Garrido. Each of the last 10 meetings has included at least 48 points, with a couple of wild 58-51 and 62-41 games. Nease receivers Maddox Spencer and Brayden Felder helped Nease defeat Ponte Vedra in last week’s Battle of the Bridge. Last meeting: Creekside 51-23 (2023).
Ponte Vedra (0-1) at Bartram Trail (1-0), 7 p.m.: Bartram Trail has won 12 of the 14 meetings, including the last five, but four of those five came down to a single score. Right now, Bears junior Arthur Lewis IV has been tough for everybody to contain, whether as rusher, receiver or returner. Ponte Vedra’s Martin Geary had a sack and a tackle for loss in his Sharks debut. Last meeting: Bartram Trail 20-17 (2023).
St. Augustine (1-0) at Menendez (1-0), 7 p.m.: The Yellow Jackets have dominated this series, winning 21 of 22 meetings (the only exception came in 2018). Both teams are coming off decisive opening-week successes: Menendez routed Sandalwood last week with two blocked punts and a Joseph Soto pick-six, while Locklan Hewlett was sharp (10 of 15) to help St. Augustine cruise past Palatka. Last meeting: St. Augustine 44-6 (2023).
Westside (0-1) at Tocoi Creek (1-0), 7 p.m.: Davian Garcia and Vincent Galella combined for 215 yards on the ground to help Tocoi Creek beat First Coast in the season opener, overcoming an early deficit along the way. Friday will be the Toros’ first-ever meeting against Westside, which has lost 18 consecutive games going back to September 2022.
