NASCAR’s annual foray to New England will look a little different in 2025.
The NASCAR Cup Series will roll into New Hampshire Motor Speedway Sept. 19-21 instead of making a summertime visit. It will mark the first time the playoffs will be held in Loudon since 2017. A NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race will be included in the tour stop.
“The two questions fans ask me the most are ‘When are we getting a September race back?’ and ‘When are we getting the Trucks back?’, and now we have both,” said NHMS executive vice president and general manager David McGrath.
The truck race will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20 as part of a doubleheader with the Whelen Modified Tour. The Cup race will kick off the round of 12 and will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21.
NHMS had been hosting two events, one in the summer and another in the fall, but that changed in 2018 when the fall race was moved to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. NHMS continued to host a summer race each year, with this year’s USA Today 301 marking the halfway point of the season June 21-23. Christopher Bell was the big winner, taking the win in a rain-delayed race on Sunday after posting a victory in Saturday’s Xfinity SciAps 200.

“We are so thankful to our loyal fans who have supported us during NASCAR’s annual summer stop in New Hampshire, but they wanted this, they deserve this, and we are ecstatic to not only be returning to the NASCAR Playoffs, but we are thrilled to host the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as well,” said McGrath.
“We’re excited to bring our race fans a high-energy weekend with intense action from the sport’s top names who will all be fighting to secure their spot in the next round of the playoffs during arguably the most beautiful time of year in New England.”
