Welcome to Year 4 of the Shane Beamer era.
Coming off an underwhelming 5-7 overall season last year, which included a 3-5 record in SEC play, South Carolina football will look to right the ship in the 2024 campaign and make the College Football Playoff with the expanded 12-team format.
However, the task won’t be that easy for the Gamecocks, who enter the season with a new quarterback and an offense that finished near the bottom of the SEC last season in scoring offense. Three of the Gamecocks’ first five games come against teams that were ranked or received votes in both the preseason US LBM Coaches and AP Top 25 polls.

The Gamecocks were picked to finish 13th in the SEC this season in the SEC football media preseason poll, which included a surprising singular first-place vote.
