Athlete of the Week is back.
The Big Bend preps season was in full swing last week with a return to the gridiron, the volleyball courts and the golf courses. There were plenty of wins spurred on by some big-time performances, so here are the five nominations for the first Campus USA Credit Union Athlete of the Week for the fall 2024 season.

Karlise Price, Rickards football
Stats: 16 carries, 85 rushing yards, two touchdowns in 22-21 win over Godby
Owen Klees, Wakulla football
Stats: 16-for-20 passing, 323 passing yards, six touchdowns, one rush for 12 yards in 41-14 win over Port St. Joe.
Naquez Christian, Madison County football
Stats: seven carries, 120 rushing yards, two touchdowns, one catch for 33 yards in 42-28 win over Deland.
Kamarrion Battles, Gadsden County football
Stats: 16 carries, 172 rushing yards, two touchdowns, one catch for 50 yards and a touchdown in a 45-7 win over Tift County.
Lindsay Smith, Chiles volleyball
Stats: Eight kills, four aces, two blocks, three digs, one assist in 3-0 win over Maclay. 16 kills, one ace, two blocks, nine digs in 3-0 win over Forest. Four kills, two digs in 3-0 win over St. John Lutheran.
