There’s been a lot of talk about Jackson Arnold entering his first year as a starter and having to do it against SEC competition. Well, Nico Iamaleava is in the same boat. The only difference is Iamaleava didn’t get a lot of opportunities to throw the football in their bowl game win over Iowa.
For better or worse, Arnold and offensive coordinators Seth Littrell and Joe Jon Finley threw caution to the wind and let their five-star quarterback sling it. Although the four turnovers in the Alamo Bowl loss to Arizona created a lot talking points this offseason, they made Arnold better because of it.
This will be Iamaleava’s toughest test of his young career on the road in a hostile environment. Tennessee’s defense is legit, but the Sooners will have enough to pull out a close one.
