Head out with a plan and you’ll have a great time with your kids at the 2024 Kentucky State Fair

We’re halfway through the final week of the Kentucky State Fair, but there’s still time to enjoy everything the Bluegrass State has to offer at the Kentucky Exposition Center.

Here’s a look at when you can plan your visit.

What time does the Kentucky State Fair open? When does it close?

Hours vary by day, and outside and inside activities close at different times. Here’s a look at the schedule for the remaining days.

Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 21-22: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. outside; inside closes at 8 p.m.Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23-24: 10 a.m.-11 p.m. outside; inside closes at 9 p.m.Sunday, Aug. 25: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. outside; inside closes at 6 p.m.Kentucky State Fair free concert schedule

Below are the performers that remain for this year’s fair. They take place in Lot L, adjacent to Kentucky Kingdom and Broadbent Arena.

For all days except Sunday, Aug. 25, gates open at 6:30 and the show starts at 8 p.m. On Sunday doors open at 4:30 p.m. for a 6 p.m. show.

According to the fair website, purses, backpacks, book bags, water bottles and strollers are allowed.

The Kentucky Exposition Center is at 937 Phillips Lane in Louisville.

Sensory Awareness Day at the Kentucky State Fair

Wednesday, Aug. 21, is Sensory Awareness Day at the fair. Fairgoers with sensory processing differences can get free admission and ride tickets. To get this deal, visit the fair website and find the form, along with additional information about the promotion.
