It’s the last day for the 2024 Democratic National Convention and Tennessee will be center stage with the Tennessee Three.
Tennessee state Reps. Gloria Johnson, Justin Jones and Justin Pearson were dubbed the Tennessee Three last year after Republicans sought to expel them from their seats in the General Assembly following a gun control protest in the wake of the Covenant School shooting that killed six people, including three children. The three are expected to take to the United Center stage Thursday night, ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris formally accepting the Democrat nomination for the 2024 presidential race.
The three are expected to continue the discussion on gun control, Jones, who represents Nashville, told CNN.
“Last year we were expelled for fighting for common sense gun laws, and the next day Vice President Kamala Harris came to Tennessee, sat in solidarity with us in our fight for democracy, in our fight to protect kids, not guns. That’s why I’m here,” Jones said.

A full list of speakers has not been released yet, but the Tennessee Three are expected to speak at some point Thursday night.
