Donald Trump, Kamala Harris agree to September 10 presidential debate
After uncertainty around whether a presidential debate will happen, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have agreed to meet on Sept. 10.
Nevada women are turning toward Vice President Kamala Harris, although former President Donald Trump still has a slight edge in the Silver State, according to a new poll.
The New York Times/Siena College poll of swing states released over the weekend shows Nevada registered voters who are women support Harris over Trump 51% to 43%.
That’s a big swing from the Times poll in May, with Trump ahead of President Joe Biden among Nevada women, 45% to 43%.
Nevada men strongly favor Trump by 13 percentage points, though. This puts Trump ahead overall against Harris — among both men and women in Nevada — 48% to 46%.
That’s within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percentage points in Nevada.

RFK Jr. could be a spoiler in Nevada
With the presidential race so tight in Nevada, third-party candidates could affect the outcome.
While Trump is up 2 points over Harris among registered Nevada voters when it’s only those two on the ballot, his edge grows slightly to 45% to 42% when other candidates are added to the mix.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. gets 6%, while none of the rest — the Green Party’s Jill Stein, Libertarian Chase Oliver and Cornell West — get more than a single percentage point of support.
Kennedy’s fortunes seem to be plummeting. In May, he polled at 12%, twice what he is now.
Harris improves among Hispanic voters in Nevada
Trump had a strong 9-point edge among Nevada’s Hispanic voters when Biden was still in the race, based on the Times poll in May.
That’s been wiped out now. The Times poll now shows Harris up 45% to 44%. That said, 11% of Hispanic voters were undecided or didn’t respond — a larger amount than among any other racial or ethnic group — meaning a significant portion still have an open mind about whom they’ll pick.
Trump leads 55% to 41% among Nevada’s white voters, while Harris leads 58% to 33% among Black, Asian and Native American voters and other racial demographics.
Do other polls show a slight edge for Trump in Nevada?
The tightening of the presidential race in Nevada does not seem to be a mirage, although it’s unclear whether Trump has a slight edge in Nevada once multiple polls are taken into account.
The Republican polling outfit called Trafalgar Group conducted a survey Aug. 6 to 8 — before Harris chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate and held a large rally in Las Vegas. The Trafalgar poll shows Trump ahead 48% to 45% in Nevada.
Real Clear Politics gives Trump a 1.3-point edge in Nevada based on combining four recent polls, including the Times’.
The Cook Political Report had listed Nevada as leaning Republican when Biden was still in the race but recently changed the state to a “toss-up.”
The data analysts at FiveThirtyEight — using an average from a variety of polls — has the Nevada race too close to call with Harris at 44.7% and Trump at 44.6%.
This includes a new poll by Focaldata that has Harris ahead by 6 points in Nevada.
Trump plans a brief stop Friday in Las Vegas where he’ll tout his “No Tax on Tips” proposal that he first floated there at a June rally.
