Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) – A Whitefish man, Dennis Marcuccio, 32, has been reported missing while climbing in Glacier National Park.
I spoke with Park Public Information Officer Autumn Sifuentes on Wednesday about the search for Marcuccio.
The Search is On for Missing Whitefish Man in Glacier National Park
“Marcuccio separated from his party while hiking from Heaven’s Peak to McPartland Peak,” began Sifuentes. “He was last seen heading toward McPartland. Marcuccio did not arrive at the rendezvous spot as planned, so park rangers were alerted on Sunday evening.”

Sifuentes provided Marcuccio’s description as the rangers continued their search.
“He is a 32-year-old Caucasian male with short brown hair, brown eyes, six feet, about 175 pounds, and he may be wearing brown shorts and a brown and white checkered shirt,” she said.
She said Two Bear Air, based in Whitefish, is already aiding in the search.
Two Bear Air and the U.S. Forest Service are Searching the Area
“Two Bear Air begin flights over the Heavens Peak area,” she said. “On Monday, rangers and search teams conducted a search of the area. Yesterday (Tuesday), two bear air flew over the area again. A helicopter from the U.S. Forest Service will assist with bringing search teams up to the area, along with flying over the area to search for Marcuccio today.”

Glacier National Park officials are asking anyone who may have been in the area and had any contact with the missing climber to contact the GLAC tip line at 406-888-7077.
