Advocates help Hawaii immigrants navigate process of becoming U.S. citizens

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – About 40 percent of immigrants in Hawaii are not U.S. citizens, but more than a third of them are eligible to be naturalized. Every week, about 80 immigrants in Hawaii — some 4,000 a year — swear allegiance to the United States at ceremonies in the office of Citizenship and Immigration Services.
