ShareHarris campaign says it’s spending $370 million on TV and digital ads this fall
The Harris campaign said it will reserve $370 million in digital and TV campaign advertising between Labor Day and Election Day, according to a new memo released this morning.
The memo said that the campaign had already committed $200 million to digital ads, mainly focused on platforms like Hulu, Roku, YouTube, Paramount, Spotify and Pandora. Now “our campaign is placing $170 million in TV reservations,” deputy campaign managers Quentin Fulks and Rob Flaherty wrote.
“The Harris-Walz campaign’s advertising strategy is designed to break through a fragmented media environment and reach the voters who will decide this election,” the two deputy campaign managers added.
ShareThere are 8 million teens eligible to vote. These high school students are trying to make sure more do.
Every year, Jessie Cai would shadow her mom on “take your kid to work day.” At the Maryland Social Security office, where her mom was a systems analyst, she was struck by the lack of Asian American faces in the room. “I walked around and got the distinct impression that not many people in public service looked like me or my mom,” said Cai, a 17-year-old rising senior.
That experience set her on a mission to understand Asian American civic engagement. In 2023, she joined New Voters, an organization that helps high schoolers host voter registration drives. A consequential Maryland primary election was on the horizon, and she wanted to make sure young people — including the Asian Americans in her community — made their voices heard. “In Maryland, you can pre-register to vote at age 16, so I knew we could cast a wider net to register younger students,” she said.

ShareBiden to make forceful case for Harris and Walz in convention speech
President Joe Biden’s role at the Democratic National Convention next week may have been dramatically reshaped by his decision to end his bid for a second term, but his message about the stakes of this election will sound familiar, according to multiple Biden officials.
The outgoing president will make the case for Vice President Kamala Harris to succeed him when he delivers Monday’s keynote address, in part by touting their accomplishments during the last four years.

ShareWhere’s Walz?
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Harris’ running mate, will be in Omaha today.
A West Point, Nebraska, native, Walz is capitalizing on his roots in an effort to swing some electoral votes the Democrats’ way.
Nebraska is one of two states that divide up electoral votes — meaning that despite being a red state, the area surrounding Omaha is in play for both campaigns. Biden won the district in 2020, but Trump won it in 2016.
The rally — one of the final campaign events ahead of the Democratic National Convention — was listed as being “at capacity.”
ShareWhere’s Trump?
Trump is returning to Pennsylvania today, marking his second visit since the attempt on his life in Butler.
Trump will be speaking to supporters in Wilkes-Barre at the Mohegan Sun Arena this afternoon, his campaign announced.
