Republicans haven’t won a statewide race in Minnesota since 2006, and Klobuchar, 64, has won reelection three times. In 2020, she defended her seat with more than 60% of the vote.
Here’s what you need to know about the eight Republicans battling it out to take on Klobuchar in November.
Royce White
Royce White, a populist, beat the odds when he was endorsed by the Minnesota GOP in May. While he attended both the University of Minnesota and Iowa State University, White did not obtain degrees from either.
White is known for his relationship with controversial conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and former President Donald Trump ally Steve Bannon as well for his own questionable comments. He has made headlines for antisemitic and anti-LGBTQ statements and questionable campaign money spending.

How do I vote?
In-person – that’s how! Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are not registered, you can do so at your polling location, which can be found at the Secretary of State’s website. Minnesota is a non-party registration state, so you do not have to register with a party to vote on its primary ballot.
