Conventions are embracing social media creators for the first time
The Democratic National Convention says it is “leveling the playing field” between creators and traditional media.
The Democratic National Convention is happening soon in Chicago, and this one will be unique.
When Kamala Harris replaced President Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket last month, this prompted the Democratic party into action. The party used an online roll-call vote to officially nominate Harris and her vice presidential candidate Tim Walz. Political parties normally use the conventions to officially select the nominees.
Since that is already done, this DNC is more about “speeches and confirming the party platform,” according to the New York Times. However, Harris has not yet formally accepted the nomination, which she will do at the DNC.
