Titans sign Abdullah Anderson, put Marlon Davidson on injured reserve

The Tennessee Titans signed veteran defensive tackle Abdullah Anderson on Friday and placed defensive tackle Marlon Davidson on injured reserve with a bicep injury, ending his 2024 season before it began.

Davidson, who had worked with the first-team defense at times throughout training camp, figured to be a key contributor in the defensive line rotation along with Jeffery Simmons, T’Vondre Sweat and Sebastian Joseph-Day. But he injured his bicep in Thursday’s joint practice with the Seattle Seahawks. The Titans signed Davidson in the middle of the 2023 season and he emerged as a reliable contributor late in the year.

Anderson has played for five teams since entering the NFL in 2018, most recently the Washington Commanders last year. He’s started eight games and made 33 appearances in that span, recording 54 tackles with 2.5 sacks and four tackles for loss.

In addition to Simmons, Sweat, Joseph-Day and Anderson, the Titans’ roster also features Keondre Coburn, Quinton Bohanna, TK McLendon Jr. and Isaiah Iton on the defensive line.

The Titans play a preseason game against the Seahawks on Saturday (6 p.m., WKRN-2).
