(WJAR) — Rhode Island leaders will gather on Friday to kick off a 15-bridge infrastructure project.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is set to a major construction project addressing 15 bridges along I-95 between Providence and Warwick.
The project included $251.1 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bridge Investment Program.
Officials say the project will have a strategic sequence to reduce the impact on traffic.
Gov. Dan McKee is set to speak at the morning gathering, as will other state leaders.
It’s slated to start at 10:00 a.m.
