Baby formula sold at CVS recalled in Rhode Island. Here’s why, and when it was sold

CVSHealth Infant Premium powdered formula made by Perrigo Company has been recalled for excessive levels of Vitamin D, the USDA said in a release.

A baby formula sold in Rhode Island CVS stores has been recalled, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced.

A CVS-branded infant formula produced by Perrigo Company was recalled for high levels of vitamin D, the FDA said.

The agency said there haven’t been any reported adverse effects to the formula so far, but the company decided to recall the product after testing revealed the high vitamin D levels.

The recall alert said the high vitamin D levels could cause health complications in “physiologically vulnerable” infants, such as those with impaired renal function.

Here’s what to know about the recall.

The recalled formula is labeled “infant premium” and has iron milk-based powder.
