Man arrested for distributing child porn in Michigan

ALGONAC, MI — The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is announcing the arrest of Andrew Michael Arnold, 31 of Algonac, for aggravated possession and distribution of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime, according to a press release from MSP.

Arnold was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Arnold was viewing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.

Arnold was charged with three counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, one count of distributing child sexually abusive material, and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

He was arraigned in the 72 District Court on Friday, August 16.

The MSP Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to speak to their children about the safe use of the internet.
