COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is asking the public to avoid US 378 near Meeting and State Streets in West Columbia after a truck spilled a portion of its organic material cargo.

SCDOT crews are assisting with the cleanup. However, SCDOT tells drivers to expect traffic delays as cleanup efforts continue.

SCDOT says you can plan your route ahead of time by using SCDOT’s 511 SC app or by visiting 511sc.org. If you can’t avoid the area, SCDOT asks that you use caution and slow down when driving near crews.
