Boerne Little League will be facing Council Rock Newtown Little League Thursday in its opening game of the 2024 Little League World Series.
The Texas team will be representing the Southwest Region in the tournament after winning all four games in its regional. Meanwhile, Council Rock Newtown LL is entering the LLWS riding an 18-game win streak. If Boerne LL beats the Pennsylvania representatives, it’ll take on the winner of Lake Mary LL and South Hill LL at 6 p.m. Monday at Lamade Stadium. Two more wins sends Boerne to the U.S. title game.
If Boerne loses, it heads to the elimination bracket for a game at 6 p.m. Saturday vs. Salem LL. From there it would have to win five games straight to make the U.S final.

Has Texas ever won the Little League World Series?
Texas has only made the finals of the LLWS once since 2001, with Lufkin LL finishing as the tournament runner-up in 2017. The last time Texas won the title was in 1966 with Westbury LL, a team based out of Houston. Last year, the Needville, Texas team lost in the U.S. finals
