New Nebraska defensive backs coach John Butler will make more in annual salary than his predecessor, Evan Cooper.
Butler, coming off 10 years in the NFL, will make $700,000, according to a spreadsheet released by NU on Wednesday night. Cooper, who resigned in early July, made $670,000.
Like Cooper, Butler also has the passing game coordinator title. He is the fourth-highest paid Husker football assistant behind defensive coordinator Tony White ($1.6 million), offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield ($1.4 million) and co-coordinator/quarterbacks coach Glenn Thomas ($800,000).
New senior football assistant Jamar Mozee, hired this summer, has a salary of $200,000. Mozee’s son, Isaiah, is a four-star receiver currently committed for the 2025 recruiting class.
