A New England baseball team is playing in the World Series this week, and it’s not the Red Sox.
The Little League team from Salem, New Hampshire, is representing New England this week at the Little League World Series.
The New Hampshire team was chosen to represent the area after defeating opponents from Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine in the New England region tournament last week.
The LLWS, which brings together teams of 10-12-year-olds from parts of the country and world, begins Wednesday in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

What is the Little League World Series?
The Little League World Series is an annual baseball tournament that brings together teams of 10-12-year-olds from around the world.
There are ten teams from the United States, representing different regions of the country. There are also ten international teams, which represent other parts of the world.
The tournament is played in a double-elimination format, meaning teams are not eliminated until they lose two games.
The U.S. and international teams play in separate brackets. One U.S. team and one international team play each other in the championship game.
When does the New Hampshire baseball team play in the Little League World Series?
The Salem, New Hampshire, Little League team, which represents the New England region in the Little League World Series, will have its first game on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 3 p.m. EST.
New England will be up against the team representing the West region, which year hails from Wailuku, Hawaii.
If New England wins its game on Wednesday, it will play again on Friday, Aug. 16 at 3 p.m. EST against the Great Lakes team. If New England loses on Wednesday, it will play in an elimination game on Saturday, Aug. 17.
