SULPHUR, La. (WVUE) – The marshes of southwestern Louisiana are nicknamed “Louisiana’s Outback.” And if you want to do some serious birdwatching or spot a few alligators, you can drive the Creole Nature Trail south of Lake Charles.
You can spend most of a day driving the 180-mile-long trail, seeing a mixture of freshwater prairie and salty marsh that is a favorite for all types of wading birds and waterfowl. Dave McNamara takes us there in the Heart of Louisiana.
