Team USA men’s basketball: Devin Booker, Steph Curry lift team

Steph Curry praising Booker and giving the team momentum

It evidently took a second Olympic gold medal for Devin Booker to get respect from fans.

Since Booker helped Team USA get a 98-87 win over France in the 2024 Paris Olympics Saturday, social media has been raving about how unselfish he was on the U.S.’ path to the Olympic title.

Booker started for the U.S. throughout the team’s run to the gold medal and played a key role defensively and in other areas that don’t stand out in the stats.

He had 15 points in the gold medal game in a little over 27 minutes, shooting six-for-10 from the field. He added six rebounds, three assists and Team USA scored 18 more points than France when he was in the game.

‘Devin Booker is finally getting the respect he deserves’

X users were particularly impressed with Booker’s performance, with a couple of accounts aggregating posts of praise for the Suns guard’s play in Paris.

‘I can’t say enough about Devin Booker and the role he took on for Team USA’

Many people were impressed with how Booker contributed to Team USA’s gold medal run.

‘The Book slander is finally over’

The praise for Booker was welcomed by Suns fans, who thought he had been underappreciated and disrespected by other fans for years.

However, that appears to have finally changed judging from all the social media praise for Booker. At least for the moment.

‘Devin Booker deserves his flowers’

Clutch Points brought back a post from Kyle Kuzma in 2023 where the NBA player posted: “USA basketball better get some nba stars that know how to play a role. Anybody can be nice with the ball in their hands but can you be cool with defending and going to the corner for a few possessions?”

Booker’s reply to that post: “I’ll do it.”

He certainly did in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
