The recruiting battle for five-star quarterback Julian “JuJu” Lewis has been exciting for everyone involved, except perhaps for the USC Trojans.

Lewis, the fourth-ranked QB in the class of 2025 (247Sports composite), committed to the Trojans almost a year ago. Since then, his word to USC has continuously weakened as other programs, including the Colorado Buffaloes, have relentlessly worked to steal Lewis’ commitment.

With Lewis’ final decision looming, 247Sports recruiting analyst Tom Loy believes a decommitment from USC is almost certain. Unfortunately for the Boulder community that has helped CU’s recruiting campaign for Lewis, Loy currently gives the edge to the Indiana Hoosiers.

Here’s what Loy said about Lewis on Monday:

“I do not expect him sticking with his pledge to the Trojans,” Loy said. “The teams to watch: Indiana, Colorado and, to a lesser extent, Auburn… If I had to pick between the two (Indiana and Colorado), I would give the edge to Indiana.”

Loy explained how the Auburn Tigers fell out of the race in July while Indiana’s coaching staff, specifically head coach Curt Cignetti and QB coach Tino Sunseri, have built strong relationships with Lewis. Given the fact that Loy still considers Colorado and Auburn to be in contention suggests that Lewis’ decision is still in the air.

“I do NOT expect him sticking with his pledge to the Trojans… Right now I give the edge to Indiana over Colorado and the field.” 🗣️@TomLoy247 with the latest intel on 4⭐️ USC QB commit Julian “JuJu” Lewis 👀 pic.twitter.com/x5TPQZ063b
