With the 2024 high school football season kicking off Aug. 29 in New Jersey and even earlier in other states, USA TODAY released its preseason Super 25 rankings on Monday.
The only team from the Garden State to make the list was three-time defending state champion Bergen Catholic, which opens at No. 22.
The Crusaders will have an opportunity to make a big jump in the rankings with a season-opening game against No. 2 IMG Academy (Florida) on Thursday, Aug. 29 in Ocean City.
They will also go on the road to face No. 23 Massillon Washington (Ohio) on Friday, Sept. 6.
Bergen Catholic is 34-2 in the last three seasons. The only losses came to Don Bosco in 2022 and Chaminade-Madonna (Florida) in 2023. Chaminade-Madonna opens this season ranked No. 6 in the Super 25.
The preseason New Jersey Super 25 rankings will be released on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
