Former President Trump plans campaign visit to Asheville on Wednesday

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Former President Donald Trump will be visiting North Carolina this coming week, according to his campaign.

A trip to Asheville for a rally on Wednesday will be the Republican presidential nominee’s second visit to North Carolina in three weeks.

Trump was in Charlotte for a rally on July 24.

In the visit to Asheville, Trump plans to speak about the economy, according to a Saturday news release.

The speech is set for 4 p.m. on August 14 at Harrah’s Cherokee Center, 87 Haywood St. in Asheville.

Doors for the event open at 1 p.m. and general admission tickets are available by registering.

Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running against Trump for president, was scheduled to visit North Carolina this past week but the trip was canceled because of impacts from Tropical Storm Debby.
