The Carson City Breaking Addiction Ministries team of Terry Kilfian and his wife Tara and sister Shelly Kilfian recently won multiple medals in arm wrestling during the USA Fit Games in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Along with hours of training, discipline, hard work and dedication, the faith-based Carson City team brought home six medals at the games, hosted by Armsports Entertainment.
Founded in 2021, Breaking Addiction Ministries has a unique approach to ministry, Terry Kilfian explained.
“We are a gym ministry and one of the tools we use is arm wrestling. We use this as a way to connect with disconnected youth and young adults while, most importantly, leading them to Jesus Christ and helping them overcome addictions, struggles, and trauma. By doing this we can share the gospel, share our testimonies, and spread the message of hope and redemption,” he said.
“Our team bringing home 6 medals is absolutely amazing but the true blessing is being able to share the love of Jesus at these competitions,” added Tara Kilfian.
