2024 Olympics: List of athletes with Iowa connections to earn medals in Paris

Dozens of athletes with Iowa connections have competed in the 2024 summer Olympics in Paris.

A few also enjoyed success and will take home a medal for their native country.

Here are all the Iowans who have medaled in the 2024 Olympics:

The former Cyclones star and current Indiana Pacers point guard was a member of Olympic champion Team USA. Haliburton played in three games, tallying 26 minutes and eight points.

The 20-year-old from Illinois went 3-0 in her first day of competition in Paris. Then she lost the gold-medal match to her Japanese opponent. She committed to Iowa in July.

Lee took the Paris Olympics by storm but fell just short to Rei Higuchi from Japan in the 57kg final.

He became the second Iowa Hawkeye wrestler to capture an Olympic silver medal.

Kenny Bednarek, who attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, earned a silver medal in the men’s 200-meter race on Friday with a time of 19.62 seconds. He upset the field favorite Noah Lyles, who earned bronze.

Bednarek has now won silver medals in the 200m in consecutive Olympics.

With a time of 22.20 seconds in the women’s 200-meter final, Brown placed third to earn a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

She is the first woman from Iowa’s program to earn an individual Olympic medal in track and field, according to Iowa Athletics.

The team, comprised of Stewart and her teammates Heidi Long, Rowan McKellar, Holly Dunford, Emily Ford, Lauren Irwin, Taylor Harriet, Annie Campbell-Orde and coxswain Henry Feldman, finished in third place in the 2000-meter race.

Stewart and her team finished in 5:59.51 minutes, off the pace of the gold-winning Romanian team (5:54.39) and just behind the Canadian team, which took silver in 5:58.84.
