Donald Trump has claimed Joe Biden will attempt to seize back the Democratic nomination from Kamala Harris at the party’s convention this month.
The former president posted a rant online in which he baselessly suggested Mr Biden was bitter that he had been pressured into dropping out of the election, and wanted to re-stake his claim to the White House.
“[Biden] feels that he made a historically tragic mistake by handing over the US presidency, a coup, to the people in the world he most hates, and he wants it back, now!!!,” Trump added in the post.
Trump also claimed that Mr Biden’s presidency was “unconstitutionally stolen from him” by Ms Harris, Barack Obama and several other leading Democrats who are the “people in the world he most hates”.

Mr Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential election race more than two weeks ago after his campaign became mired in questions about his age and fitness for office.
Though he expressed irritation with moves to end his candidacy, there appear to be no grounds to Trump’s claims that he is planning or able to stage a comeback.
When he resigned, saying it was in “the best interest” of the Democratic Party and the country that he should, he endorsed Ms Harris, his vice-president, as the presidential candidate.
Politico reported that his team is also in talks with Ms Harris’s advisers to deploy him on the campaign trail to states he won in 2020, such as Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan.

On Tuesday, Ms Harris received the votes of 99 per cent of participating delegates in a virtual roll call, effectively sewing up her status as the Democratic nominee to take on Trump in November.
Since she was switched to top the presidential ticket, polls have begun to paint a different picture of November’s winner. She has surpassed Trump in polls where Mr Biden had lagged behind.
Trump has lashed out at the challenge he now faces by accusing Ms Harris’s campaign of violating federal campaign finance laws. In a complaint with the Federal Election Commission, David Warrington, the Trump campaign’s general counsel, said Ms Harris could not claim the millions of dollars that were donated to Mr Biden.

On Tuesday, Ms Harris announced Tim Walz as her pick for vice-president.
The 60-year-old Minnesota governor – formerly a teacher, a football coach and an army national guard enlisted soldier – is believed to have been chosen for his plain speaking and midwestern appeal.
Trump said that he was “absolutely surprised” by the move and denounced the Harris-Walz ticket as the “most radical Left duo in American history.”
But Democrats, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the New York congresswoman, and Josh Shapiro, the Pennsylvania governor previously touted as a possible running mate for Ms Harris, have already voiced their support for the vice-president’s decision.
