GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A United States Postal Service (USPS) employee was arrested in Gwinnett County for stealing and dumping mail, along with using drugs while delivering mail.
The Gwinnett County Police Department was contacted on July 31, 2024 by the USPS Inspector General after investigations revealed several complaints of individuals not receiving mail.
Undercover officers watched Marcus Gregory on his delivery route, and caught him dumping mail in the woods near Williams Farm Road.
Officers also witnessed Gregory use illegal drugs while inside his work vehicle.
Gregory was then pulled over and arrested.
When searching his work vehicle, officers found a handgun, and more illegal drugs.
Investigators searched Gregory’s personal vehicle at the local post office and found 215 pieces of stolen mail.
Officers received a search warrant for Gregory’s residence on August 3, 2024 and were able to locate more stolen mail.
Marcus Gregory has been charged with the following:
DUI
Possession of a schedule I narcotic
Possession of a firearm during a crime
Theft of stolen mail
Theft by taking
Obstruction
Gregory has been charged with a total of 51 felony warrants and 9 misdemeanor warrants.
