Colorado Mountain College will host a series of live talks with author Richard Haass, whose bestselling book “The Bill of Obligations: The Ten Habits of Good Citizens” has been discussed as part of the college’s ongoing book speaker series centered around U.S. democracy.
Haass, who served as a diplomat under four different presidents from both parties, is set to speak on the importance of civil discourse and civic engagement at a time when American politics is becoming more polarized.
Haass will give six different talks at Colorado Mountain College’s various campuses in October, with an appearance at the Breckenridge campus on Oct. 16 from 6-8 p.m. The other scheduled talks will be at the college’s Aspen campus on Oct. 14; its Spring Valley campus on Oct. 14; its Vail Valley campus on Oct. 15; its Leadville campus on Oct. 15 and its Steamboat Springs campus on Oct. 17.
Anyone interested can register for the Breckenridge talk, which is free and open to the public, at ColoradoMTN.edu/event/author-talk-breckenridge/.
