Big Lots has expanded its closure list to include three Tennessee locations.
In early July, Big Lots announced that it would close 35 to 40 stores by the end of the year, but that number was recently increased to include potentially over 300 stores. With this expansion comes the closure of at least 3 Tennessee stores, but more could be on the way in the coming months.
Here is what we know about the closures in Tennessee.
Which Big Lots stores in Tennessee are closing?
As of August 7, three stores will close in the coming weeks. Two stores are outside of Nashville and the other is in northwest Tennessee. All three stores will have 20% discounts on majority of store items during the closing sale.

Why is Big Lots closing locations?
Big box discount store Big Lots announced it may close up to 315 stores in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
The Wednesday filing outlined updated loan terms for the beleaguered retailer that lowered the store’s credit limit and raised the line’s interest rate in addition to the closings. The original agreement allowed for up to 150 store closings.
The company reported that sales in the first quarter of 2024, which ended in May, fell more than 10% compared to the previous year.
How many Big Lots locations are in Tennessee?
There are 47 stores in Tennessee, soon to be 44, with stores in cities and towns like Knoxville, Chattanooga, Bristol and Kingsport. Here is a list of where they are in the state.
