Tropical storm Debby remnants to bring heavy rain to Maine late this week

PORTLAND (WGME)— Beautiful weather is in store for Maine Wednesday and Thursday, ahead of the remnants of Debby which will bring heavy rain to Maine Friday and into Saturday.

Things will then clear out for Wednesday, with sunny skies and highs near 75 by the afternoon. Humidity levels will be much lower.

Thursday is looking like the pick of the week with a refreshing, cool morning, and highs in the mid to upper 70s with sunny skies and nice dry air continuing.

A big shift in the forecast track of Debby now means Maine will likely be on thedrier side of the system. Rain from Debby’s remnants will begin Thursday evening, with off and on heavy rain through the day on Friday. Some flooding issues are possible, with rain continuing through Saturday morning.

With Maine now likely to be on the drier side of Debby, the heaviest rain totals will likely be in Quebec. Still, a couple to a few inches of rain will be possible in the state. With this updated track and slightly faster movement of Debby, Saturday’s forecast looks much improved. After heavy rain in the morning, it looks like sun returns for the afternoon with temps climbing into the mid 80s.

Sunday looks beautiful with sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s with low humidity.

The nice dry, sunny, and comfy weather continues into next week.
