Two of Kentucky’s favorite singers have something in common with Taylor Swift.

Louisville rapper Jack Harlow and Tyler Childers, the country/folk singer-songwriter originally from Lawrence County, along with Swift and other top artists of the year, were nominated for a 2024 VMA, the popular and respected competition set to air live from UBS Arena in New York on Sept. 10.

The nominees were announced Tuesday afternoon.

While Swift led the race with 10 overall nods, Kentucky got some good recognition.

In the category of “Song of the Year,” Harlow’s “Lovin’ On Me” was nominated alongside tunes from Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims, and Swift’s collaboration with Post Malone.

Childers’ visuals for his hit, “In Your Love,” got some love, with the singer being nominated in the category called “Video for Good.” The touching video, which counts as Childers’ first VMA nomination, will go up against videos attributed to artists such as Coldplay, Billie Eilish, and Jelly Roll.

Childers will headline the final day of the four-day Bourbon & Beyond Festival, set for Sept. 19-22 at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.

Fans can vote in 15 gender-neutral categories by visiting vote.mtv.com now through Aug. 30. Voting for the best new artist will remain active into the Sept. 10 ceremony and nominations for social categories will be announced at a later date, according to USA TODAY.

The 2024 VMA will air live on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. from the UBS Arena in New York City. The show will be broadcast on MTV and also be available on Pluto TV.
