Partain and Benesh have been on a roll since suffering a 2-0 defeat to Cuba’s Diaz and Alayo in their Pool D opener. They bounced back with wins of 2-0 and 2-1 over teams from Morocco and Brazil to reach the Round of 16. They advanced to the quarterfinals with a 2-0 win (21-17, 21-18) over Italy’s Samuele Cottafava and Paolo Nicolai.
The Qater team of Younousse and Tijan powered through Pool A opponents from Italy (2-0), Sweden (2-1) and Australia (2-0), then took a dominant 2-0 win (21-14, 21-13) over Chile’s Esteban and Marco Grimalt in the Round of 16 to improve to 4-0 thus far in the 2024 Olympics.
