The Cowboy track and field program is one step closer to placing an individual on the Olympic podium on Tuesday.
Former Oklahoma State long jumper Jacob Fincham-Dukes finished fifth overall in the Olympics with an 8.14-meter jump. Fincham-Dukes competed in the Paris Olympics on behalf of Great Britain.

Before this week, the closest a former Cowboy track and field member had ever come to the podium as an individual occurred in the 2020 games when Nick Miller finished sixth in the hammer throw for Great Britain.
“Please don’t report me to the House Un-American Activities Committee, but if the USA men’s basketball team plays Team Canada, I’ll be pulling for the True North strong and free.”
J.W. Mashburn won the program’s only gold medal when he helped the 4×400 meter relay finish first in the 1956 Olympics.
Oklahoma State has two athletes yet to begin competition at the Olympics in women’s golf and women’s shot put.
