Rochester, N.Y. — Raise your glass, pals: Upstate New York is home to one of the best-ranked bars in the United States.
Radio Social, a photogenic social club housed in a historic Rochester warehouse, has been named one of the best 27 bars in the nation by USA Today. The Western New York bar was the only Upstate pub on the ranking; one other New York bar, Saints and Scholars in Yonkers, also made the list.
“An absolute honor,” Radio Social wrote in an Instagram post about the ranking.

Radio Social is more than just a bar.
Housed inside the Stromberg-Carlson warehouse on Carlson Road, Radio Social makes the most of its 42,000-square-foot home. The venue boasts 34 bowling lanes; a whiskey bar and a craft cocktail bar; a pizza counter and an award-winning Middle Eastern restaurant; and plenty of Instagram-worthy spots to lounge and play games.
“In a city that has a strong craft cocktail scene, the most weirdly wonderful place to drink is Radio Social,” USA Today wrote.
The reviewer praised the bar’s “playful concoctions” and the games it offers for patrons, which include cornhole on the back lawn and shuffleboard indoors.
And for mimosa lovers, there is good news: On Sundays, Radio Social serves brunch.

USA Today’s roundup does not include the contenders typically found on best bar roundups. Instead, the list contains the publication’s far-flung food writers’ favorite haunts.
“These bars are the places we love — a mix of old, new and in-between,” USA Today wrote. “They’re places with stories to tell, places that should be on your bucket list when you travel and your favorites list where you live.”
