Former Badger Micah Potter signs two-way NBA contract with Utah Jazz

Former Wisconsin Badgers forward Micah Potter signed a two-way contract with the Utah Jazz for the 2024-25 NBA season on Saturday.

Potter spent the last two seasons with the Jazz, bouncing to and from their G-League affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The contract comes after Potter spent the summer on the USA Select Team. He and 14 others, including former Wisconsin SF Nigel Hayes, served as the de-facto practice squad for the 2024 USA Men’s Basketball Team as they prepared for the Olympic Games. Potter made headlines during this period when he subbed in an exhibition game and drilled a corner three-pointer.

2024-25 will be Potter’s fourth season in the NBA after leaving college after the 2020-21 season. 2023-24 was his best season yet. The power forward appeared in 16 games and tallied 14 points, 43 rebounds, six assists and six blocks, all on 47% shooting from the floor. The campaign marked a continued climb in playing time and production since he appeared in only three games with the Denver Nuggets in 2021-22.

This upcoming season in Utah should see those numbers continue to climb, especially if Potter can stick on the NBA roster.
