Miss USA crowned a new winner on Sunday evening and although Kentucky did not receive the honor, its delegate made it far in the competition.
The crowning follows a turbulent year for the Miss USA organization, following the resignations of former Miss USA Noelia Voigt and former Miss Teen USA 2023 UmaSofia Srivastava and the exit of the organization’s social media director.
The 42nd Miss Teen USA pageant and 73rd Miss USA pageant aired on The CW Network, although the network was evaluating its relationship with the the organizations after the resignations of the past winners.
The 2023 Miss USA pageant runner-up, Hawaii’s Savannah Gankiewicz, was crowned in May after Voigt left.

Miss Michigan USA Alma Cooper was crowned Miss USA in Sunday’s pageant.
“As the daughter of a migrant worker, a proud Afro-Latina woman, and an officer in the United States Army, I am living the American dream,” Cooper, 22, said during the Q&A portion of the pageant, according to CNN and Today.com.
