The 2024 USA Boccia National Championships, a Paralympic sport that is similar to bocce, will begin Tuesday at the Iowa West Field House in Council Bluffs.
The Omaha Sports Commission and the Council Bluffs Convention and Visitors Bureau are the host organizations for the competition expected to draw more than 100 para-athletes, ages 9 to 76, from 13 states, in wheelchairs.
The sports commission announced that the inaugural Aksarben Tirc cycling criterium will be May 17, 2025, in Aksarben Village.
The bicycle road race will be on a mile loop starting and ending at 67th and Shirley Streets.
