Pacific tropical storms may help fuel Arizona monsoon storms this week

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Hurricane activity in the eastern Pacific Ocean has turned quite active as of late.

As of Monday morning, there are four tropical storms in this region: Carlotta, Daniel, Emelia, and Fabio. Fabio may impact our weather here in Arizona over the next few days.

Fabio will stay far away from Arizona, but it’s likely that it will spin some moisture our way on Tuesday and Wednesday. This moisture may interact with another disturbance moving into our region at the same time.

This could help keep things active in the mountains with showers and thunderstorms.

This could also help fuel potential thunderstorms for the Valley and the Phoenix metro area Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.

Even if the Valley does not receive rain, storms could bring strong winds and blowing dust Tuesday evening or Tuesday night.
