Two new polls show Vice President Kamala Harris narrowing the gap with Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, a key swing state.
A survey of Pennsylvania voters by the Commonwealth Foundation, a think tank based in the state, found that 47 percent would vote for Harris if the election were held today, while 46 percent would vote for the former president.
Of the 7 percent who responded “other” or “none of the above” to the question, 24 percent said they lean toward Harris if they had to choose between the two, while 15 percent leaned toward Trump.
The survey polled 800 registered voters in Pennsylvania between July 23-25 and has a margin of error of +/- 3.46 points.
A Fox News poll published Friday shows Harris and Biden in a dead heat, with both receiving 49 percent of the vote.
The results show the race in a similar state to April, when Biden and Trump were neck-and-neck in Pennsylvania, per the network’s polling.
In response to Newsweek’s request for comment, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung pointed to a post on X, formerly Twitter, that lists results from another poll in which Trump appears to be ahead of Harris in several swing states.
Newsweek has reached out to Harris’s campaign for comment via email outside of regular working hours.
In the lead-up to Biden’s decision to drop out of the race, polls generally showed Trump winning Pennsylvania.
When the new Fox survey added third-party candidates to the mix, Harris polled two points ahead of Trump, 45 percent to 43 percent.
The inclusion of independent candidates mostly hurts Trump. In the Fox poll, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. received 7 percent of the vote, while Jill Stein and Cornel West got 1 percent each.
The poll surveyed 1,034 registered voters in Pennsylvania between July 22-24 and has a margin of error of +/- 3 points.

Trump won Pennsylvania in 2016 by a narrow margin of around one percentage point, before Biden reclaimed the state in 2020 with a similarly narrow margin.
Harris has yet to announce her running mate, but Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is frequently mentioned as a potential choice. He polls well in the state, with a 61 percent favorable rating, the highest of any individual tested, per the Fox poll.
Biden announced that he would drop his reelection bid on July 21, following mounting calls from within his own party after a disastrous debate performance against Trump in June.
He endorsed Vice President Harris to replace him at the top of the ticket, and the Democratic party quickly coalesced around her candidacy.
Since Biden’s exit, polls have shown that Harris is narrowing the gap with Trump, including in several key battleground states.
Her campaign outlined in a memo on Wednesday how the vice president has “multiple pathways to victory” running through seven key battleground states and gaining ground with critical voting groups.
Harris has yet to become the official nominee but has secured enough delegates to win her party’s nomination on the first ballot at the Democratic National Convention next month.
