Barry Switzer makes bold statement about Deion Sanders

There has been a lot of speculation as to what lies ahead for Colorado Buffalos head coach Deion Sanders.

Despite Sanders saying that he has every intention of seeing things through at Colorado even after his sons head to the NFL, some football folks aren’t buying it.

Some speculate that he will follow his sons to the NFL and be their advisor. Others think he’d take an NFL job if it made sense. ESPN’s Paul Finebaum recently pitched the idea that Sanders could end up at USC if they fire Lincoln Riley.

Former Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners head coach Barry Switzer thinks that whatever his decision, Deion is going to do what’s best for Deion.

“Deion is going to go what fits Deion,” Switzer said on the Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich podcast. “I don’t say he is tied to Colorado; he is going to try and establish himself there, but Deion is going to go what fits Deion, and I understand.

“All coaches do that. I didn’t when I was at Oklahoma. Hell, I had one of the best jobs in the country when I was here in the ‘70s and ’80s. I wasn’t going anywhere. I wished they paid me more, but it was different times and a different era.”
