A new expert projection for Michigan football in the 2026 class

Much of the talk going into the Michigan football recruiting BBQ was on some of the uncommitted prospects in the 2025 recruiting class that would be on campus.

Top-100 wideouts, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Andrew Marsh and Jerome Myles visited for the BBQ, along with Phillip Wright, a three-star wideout who committed to Michigan football on July 13th.

Jayden Sanders, a four-star defensive back in the 2025 class, was also in attendance for the BBQ, along with a number of other 2025 commitments.

However, the weekend might have been more about the 2026 class. At least it might be in the long run. Brady Hart, Michigan’s only 2026 commitment right now, was on campus and the top-100 quarterback had his recruiting hat on for the Wolverines.

Haaving a quarterback lead the way for a recruiting class is huge and it’s vital that the Wolverines got Hart in the fold as early as they did. Since they actually have a full year to recruit the 2026 class, unlike 2025, which had a lot of coaching turnover, there’s a good chance that it could be one of Sherrone Moore’s best classes.

Hart got it started but EJ Holland of The Wolverine is projecting four-star defensive back Brody Jennings to the Wolverines following his unofficial visit over the weekend. Jennings is 6-foot-1, 185 pounds out of Jacksonville, Florida.

Jennings is ranked No. 271 overall in the 2026 class according to the On3 Industry rankings. Miami, Florida, Virginia Tech, and Florida State are among the other programs interested. The Wolverines now have a 97-percent chance to land his commitment after Holland’s projection.
