Summer Olympics 2024 in Paris will feature 329 events.

One of the world’s biggest sporting events returns this summer with the Paris Olympics, with Opening Ceremonies planned for today. Georgia will be well represented with 27 athletes competing for Team USA whose home towns are listed as Peach State places.
Atlanta has the most with eight athletes on the team, including Allie Wilson in track and field, Anthony Edwards in basketball, Caleb Wiley in soccer, Chris Bailey in track and field, Chris Eubanks in tennis, Christian Coleman in track and field, Gia Pergolini in para swimming, and Jasmine Jones in track and field. Coleman was also in the 2016 Olympics and Pergolini was also in the 2020 games.
Marietta has four athletes including Dearica Hamby in 3×3 basketball, Emily Sonnett in soccer, and Hampton Morris in weightlifting. Hamby and Sonnett were also in the 2020 Olympics.

Athens had two athletes including Graham Blanks in track and field as well as Jarryd Wallace in para track and field. Wallace was also in the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympics.

He was also in the 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympics.Daniel Roberts from Hampton is competing in track and field. He was also in the 2020 Olympics.Walker Zimmerman from Lawrenceville is competing in soccer.Carson Tyler from Moultrie is competing in diving.Ryan Medrano from Savannah is competing in para track and field.Brody Malone from Summerville is competing in gymnastics. He was also in the 2020 Olympics.Emma Hunt from Woodstock is competing in sport climbing.
Georgia has the eighth highest number of athletes on the team. California has the most with 142 qualified.
The opening ceremony of the Olympics will air live on NBC and stream live on Peacock on July 26. Live coverage begins at 12 p.m. ET with primetime starting at 7:30 p.m. ET.
