GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators landed a huge commitment from former USF Bulls infielder Bobby Boser, who will be a senior in 2025.
Boser led South Florida with 12 home runs in 2024 despite missing 22 games due to a broken hamate bone. He had seven home runs over the first 13 games of the season and hit five over the final 11 games. Boser was named the NCBWA National Hitter of the Week on March 12 two days after suffering the injury. The week prior he batted .476, slugged 1.381 and posted a .500 OBP. Boser recorded two doubles, one triple, five home runs, 16 RBI and 11 runs over five games that week. He also recorded the first cycle by a Bull since 2004.
Boser is a utility player who can play all over the field. He made 17 starts at second base, 11 at shortstop and two at third base last season for USF.
Boser finished his junior campaign with a .299 batting average, 18 extra-base hits, 28 runs scored, 32 RBI and six stolen bases. He ranks eighth all-time in program history with 31 home runs in 402 at-bats over 127 career games. He spent the summer playing with the Warehem Gatemen in the Cape Cod League.
